Harbor house Nirvana on the marina with lake view

Harbor house Nirvana is a modern house with beautiful views over the Lauwersmeer. The house is fully equipped and well behaved dogs are welcome.

The house has a floor space of approximately 80 m² and can accommodate up to 6 people. On the ground floor are 2 bedrooms, one has a double bed and another has a queen-sized bed.
From the kitchen, you can go to the terrace. There is a bathroom with a shower and toilet as well as a separate toiletroom. There is also an outside walk-in storage room.
The sauna is located on the right side of the kitchen. It has enough place for 3 persons.
In the attic, is the living room and through the "panoramic windows" you have a beautiful view over the harbor and the Lauwersmeer lake. The same view can be enjoyed from the covered balcony. Another, small room next to the living room is used as a third bedroom with two one-person beds.

The parking is located on the property. The terrace is equipped with garden furniture. Grilling is in the garden allowed.

The internet, sauna and washing machine are free of charge and baby cot and high chair are available on request.

Oostmahorn is an old stronghold at the at the western side of the Lauwerslake with a rich history, dating back to the sixteenth century. Nowadays it’s a very pleasant tourist destination at the National Park Lauwersmeer, hosting several holiday resorts.

The lake itself and the direct surroundings are a true paradise for nature lovers, fisherman, water sports enthusiasts, cyclists and hikers. Dogs are more than welcome here as well. There’s a special beach and a forest for them at Lauwersoog.

Within a couple of hundreds of meters there are several playgrounds for children. At the beach, in the small resort ‘De Skâns’ and in Esonstad - which is a holiday resort build as a replica of a typical old Frysian city. In Esonstad you’ll even find a bouncy castle and an indoor playing hall and one can play golf and foot golf here at the local Pitch & Putt area. Renting a bicycle or e-chopper is also possible here.

In Esonstad you can easily do your daily groceries (a bigger supermarkt is just a couple of kilometers away in Anjum) or find a restaurant, pizzeria or a snackbar.
Another three restaurants are even closer to your holiday house. Some of them offer spectacular lake views. Other good options to enjoy the local seafood cuisine are the sea harbor of Lauwersoog at the northern side of the lake, the old fishing village of Zoutkamp at the eastside of the lake or at Dokkum, the most northern fortified city of Friesland.

To discover the National Park from the waterside you could bring your own boat or surf gear but there are boats and sailing boats for rent as well at ‘Paviljoen La Barca’. If you’re more into cat sailing, try the local cat-club ‘Omaho’, next to the small marina.

A boat-tour, sailing trip to Dokkum, bird or seal expedition can be booked around the corner and a ferry to the beautiful island of Schiermonnikoog, with it’s many miles of sandy beaches, is leaving from Oostmahorn as well.

The Lauwerslake (Lauwersmeer in dutch) is truly loved by fishermen for its large bream, roach, pike, perch and eel. At the reception of Holland1 you can obtain a fishing permit.

Do you like to walk and do you want to relax? Then visit the fishing village of Paesens-Moddergat with its small museum and experience the Wadden Sea World Heritage with its largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world. Hiking over the mudflats of the Wadden Sea certainly is one of the most memorable activities in the Netherlands. Guided tours can be booked here every day of the year.

Or just stay and enjoy yourself at your holiday house. Just don’t forget to look up at the universe on a clear night. With the title Dark Sky Park, Lauwersmeer National Park is one of the world’s darkest places. Here, you can truly experience nature in the dark!

    “Ein wirklich schönes und sehr einladendes Haus mit guter Ausgangslage zum spazieren gehen. Positiv: Die Lage des Hauses direkt am Hafen und Deich ist toll. Fußläufig ist außerdem ein kleiner Strandabschnitt zu erreichen. Besonders schön ist innerhalb des Hauses der große, gemütliche und helle Wohn-Essbereich mit Blick auf den Hafen. Außerdem schafft der Kamin noch mehr Gemütlichkeit. Außerdem ist ein Supermarkt nur wenige Kilometer entfernt. Negativ: An manchen Stellen hätte es ein wenig sauberer sein können.”

    “Wir waren mit dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr zufrieden. Ein sehr schönes gemütliches Häuschen, mit einem wundervollen Ausblick. Sehr toll war auch, gewisse kleine Gadgets, wie z.B. die Gewürze, an die man beim Einkauf, vielleicht nicht gedacht hatte, oder die liebevolle Einrichtung, die vor allem im Obergeschoss zum sitzen und verweilen einlädt.
    Das nächste mal, wenn Wir kommen, werden wir auch die Infrarot Sauna im Haus ausprobieren.
    Sehr Tierliebe Familie (Vermieter), die auch jederzeit sehr Hilfreich, Freundlich und Flexibel sind,und auch das Haus ist mit kleinen Gadgets sehr Tierlieb eingerichtet.
    Im großen und ganzen waren Wir, sehr zufrieden und würden jederzeit gerne wieder kommen.”

    “Das Haus Ist sehr schön gelegen, aber langsam ist es an der Zeit wieder in das Haus zu investieren, um kleinere Mängel zu beseitigen. Wir sprechen in erster Linie von Schönheitsmängeln, wie Wandfarbe, Einstellen von Türen, Kücheninventar (Pfannen, Besteck etc.) und der oberflächlichen Sauberkeit. Alles in Kürze abstellbar !”
